A white lawmaker says he heard the epithets too.&#8221;  <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_n_word_feud">http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_n_word_feud</a>.  &#8220;It was March 20, near the end of the bitter health care debate, when Reps. John Lewis, Andre Carson and Emanuel Cleaver say that some demonstrators, many of them tea party activists, yelled the &#8220;N-word&#8221; as the congressmen walked from House office buildings to the Capitol.&#8221;  Now, I&#8217;m gonna ask what may seem like a stupid question here.  How did they know the political orientation of the individuals shouting these slurs, not to mention which individuals were actually doing the shouting?  Out of &#8220;thousands of angry protestors&#8221; they were able to pick out and identify them as Tea Party activists/Conservatives?  Did they ask for ID?  &#8220;Excuse me sir, I couldn&#8217;t help hearing that you&#8217;re shouting the &#8220;N&#8221; word at me.  Could I please ask your official political party affiliation?&#8221;  I&#8217;m sorry, but I can&#8217;t see that happening.  I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is possible, however unlikely, that some of those racial slurs were shouted by Liberals!  Yes, there are Liberals against the health care bill too!  Furthermore, what difference does it make who shouted what?  At least it wasn&#8217;t bullets or rotten vegetables they were throwing!  They were exercising their right to free speech, and if their level of maturity/intellect restricts them to slurs and names, well, it is offensive, but it is their right.  Lime green Volkswagen Beetles are offensive as well, but people do buy and drive them!  The sadder side of this is the Congressmen&#8217;s behavior.  By making such a big issue out of some name calling and/or racial slurs by a small number of intellectually-challenged people, they give credence to ignorance.  And by participating at all, they lower themselves to the same level by association.  People elected to Congress are there in part because their constituency believed them to be of a higher emotional and intellectual maturity level than average.  People in such positions of authority should be able to demonstrate a tolerance for many types of criticism, for you just can&#8217;t make all the people happy all the time, and such criticisms are inevitable.  Maybe their constituency was wrong, and it&#8217;s time to reevaluate their employment.<br />
The article goes on to state; &#8220;Conservative activists say the lawmakers are lying.&#8221; &#8216;It didn&#8217;t happen,&#8217; said Breitbart, who wasn&#8217;t there. &#8216;This is 2010. Even a racist is media-savvy enough not to yell the N-word.&#8217; &#8220;That&#8217;s reassuring.  He wasn&#8217;t even there and he can state unequivocally, &#8220;it didn&#8217;t happen&#8221;?  I hate to be the one to disappoint Mr. Breitbart, but we probably aren&#8217;t talking about very &#8220;savvy&#8221; characters here to begin with, let alone &#8220;media savvy&#8221;.  To accuse the Congressmen of &#8220;lying&#8221; is absolutely ludicrous.  Though they may have many reasons or motivations for lying about it, I don&#8217;t believe they would.  I have no doubt that this actually did take place.  But to accuse them of lying demonstrates the same level of reduced maturity/intellect that the people they&#8217;re accusing have demonstrated.  Again they have lowered themselves to the same level by association.<br />
And the news media, for even putting this story in print.  Well, I rest my case!<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The other day, I was browsing around the internet, and came across a petition concerning a &#8220;National Sales Tax&#8221;.  Now, of course, I jumped all over that because I DO NOT support a National Sales Tax.  So I checked the &#8220;NO&#8221; box and left a comment something to the effect that the tax amounted to &#8220;double taxation&#8221; which, I wrote, is &#8220;prohibited by the Constitution&#8221;.  I went away feeling all warm and fuzzy, thinking I had made a valuable contribution to our National Policy.  I got thinking about it a little later though, and the question occurred to me; &#8220;what is double taxation&#8221;?  Now, we&#8217;ve all heard over and over again (at least I have, and since I hear only a small portion of what everybody else hears, you had to have heard it too!) that &#8220;double taxation&#8221; is &#8220;prohibited by the Constitution&#8221;.  My wife, just that day, had given me a small book that contained the Constitution of the United States.  So I thought, &#8220;Maybe it&#8217;s time I look that up and prove it to myself.&#8221;  To my surprise, do you know how many times the phrase &#8220;double taxation&#8221; is mentioned in the Constitution?  A sum total of ZERO!!!!  That&#8217;s right, el zippo!  The Constitution grants the Federal government the right to levy taxes on certain things, and prohibits the States and Municipalities from levying taxes on certain specific things that the Federal government may already be taxing.  Most of that has to do with imports and exports.  Therein may lie an implied &#8220;double taxation&#8221;, if a State is charging a tax on an import/export that the Feds are already taxing.  But nowhere could I find anything that stated unequivocally that our dollars can&#8217;t be taxed over and over again until they cease to exist!  This, I might add, is pretty close to where we are and most certainly the direction we&#8217;re headed in.</p>
<p>Now first of all, I am ashamed to admit that it has taken me this long to actually read the Constitution.  How many of us continue to go through life just regurgitating what someone else has told us without ever looking it up for ourselves, especially in the case of our founding documents, which aren&#8217;t even all that long?  The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Articles of Confederation could probably be read in their entirety in a couple of hours.  This, I believe, is one of the reasons our government has managed to run amuck.  By not fully understanding what we should be expecting of them, we have let them set their own standards.  Second, it appears there may be room here for an amendment limiting the total taxing authority of all levels of government. In closing, I would like to quote the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence:</p>
<p>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. &#8211;Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Beginnings of the American Revolution.</p>
<p>Beginning in 1763, an arrogant Parliament passed several Acts which exploded in their face.  The Acts they passed set into motion the mechanisms that would eventually enable and result in the &#8220;Declaration of Independence&#8221; and the American Revolutionary War.</p>
<p>In 1764, the British Parliament under John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, decided it was time the Colonists pay back at least a portion of the expense of keeping British troops stationed in America after the end of the &#8220;Seven Years War&#8221; (French and Indian War).  With no military threats imminent, there really was no longer a need for such a large military force.  So to keep them stationed in England would not be politically popular.  To demobilize 10,000 troops, would put as many as 1,500 officers, many of whom were well connected in Parliament, out of work.  So the decision was made to leave them stationed in America.  The outbreak of Pontiac&#8217;s War, in 1763, seemed to justify this decision, but that&#8217;s not why they were here.</p>
<p>George Grenville became Prime Minister in April of 1763, and upon him fell the task of finding a way to finance this large deployment.  Raising taxes on British citizens and/or businesses at home, was political suicide at the time, so he decided to tax the Colonists, ostensibly because they benefited the most from the military presence.  He started with the Sugar Act of 1764.  The Sugar Act reduced the tax on imported molasses, but also made it more enforceable. Imported (coming from anywhere but the British West Indies) molasses had been taxed since the passage of the Molasses Act of 1733 but was routinely circumvented by smuggling or bribing customs officials.  The primary purpose of the Molasses Act was to give the British molasses a monopoly, which of course they controlled the price of.  The Sugar Act also added new taxes and restrictions on other imports and exports.  For example lumber could only be exported to Britain. Mandating a captive market gave the British control of that pricing too.  The Colonist&#8217;s objections to the new taxes were economic at first, then, they turned to constitutionality:  &#8220;Taxation without representation&#8221;.  Since the Colonists were not represented in Parliament, and the British Constitution stated that Britons (which specifically included the Colonists) could not be taxed without their consent, they felt the new taxes were indeed unconstitutional.  At the same time the Sugar Act was passed, the Parliament announced that a Stamp Act was also being considered.  Mr. Grenville also reiterated that the government did have the right to tax the colonies, and that the Parliament ruled supreme over the colonies even though they weren&#8217;t represented in the Parliament.  One needs to keep in mind that this is all taking place during a post war recession.  This didn&#8217;t go over real well.</p>
<p>The Stamp Act passed Parliament March 22, 1765.  The Act consisted of Revenue Stamps on official legal documents of varying amounts depending on the document.  It also included the authorization of Admiralty (Naval) courts to prosecute tax violators.  The belief here was that Britain was trying to usurp the authority of the Colonial courts with courts that were firmly under control of the British.  The Act specifically mentioned &#8220;ecclesiastical jurisdiction courts&#8221;.  Since there were no courts of this type in the colonies at this time, there was fear that the British were trying to reestablish state sanctioned religious institutions in the colonies.  Tax protests continued to become more numerous until they turned violent, with effigial hangings and property destruction, the victims of which were mainly taxing officials.   The Stamp Act was officially repealed on March 18, 1766.  But, as a consequence, the Declaratory Act was passed on the same day-an act that claimed Parliament had absolute power to enact laws and changes to the colonial government as Parliament saw fit even without representation.  Other acts passed subsequent to the passage of the Declaratory Act would continue to enrage the colonists, leading to the American Revolutionary War in 1775.</p>
<p>The parallels here are the government passing laws as they see fit without representation.  We keep hearing about the supremacy of Federal Law.  If &#8220;We the People&#8221; were properly represented when the Federal Law was passed, there wouldn&#8217;t have to be Federal Law supremacy.  The mere idea that Federal Law has to be supreme means that the people didn&#8217;t want the law to begin with.  How about giving the IRS enforcement authority?  What&#8217;s Health Care got to do with revenue?  The IRS is not an elected body.  They function under the Secretary of the Treasury, which is a member of the president&#8217;s cabinet and is appointed by the president.  Supposedly the IRS enforces those laws enacted by Congress, but they haven&#8217;t been listening either, so where&#8217;s the representation there?  Remember, when Law Enforcement couldn&#8217;t take down Al Capone, the IRS did.  Convenient, isn&#8217;t it?   Kind of like making Naval courts supreme over local Colonial courts right?  And with Federal Law supreme, what&#8217;s next?  Religion, guns, education, vocation, seems the sky&#8217;s the limit.  The Sugar Act was repealed, as may be the Affordable Health Care for America Act, but the stage has been set.  Let us intervene now, peacefully, before we have to go through another revolution!<br />

<p>Mr. President, on Friday April 2, you were interviewed by Harry Smith of CBS.  <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1437">http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1437</a>.  In that interview you called Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh purveyors of &#8220;vitriol&#8221;- creating a climate in which you&#8217;re called a &#8220;socialist&#8221; and even a &#8220;Nazi&#8221;. So now according to you, these two commentators are responsible for the political unrest in America. Mr. Beck and Mr. Limbaugh have gained huge audiences over the last few years because people agree with them. And their numbers are growing rapidly. Mr. President, is it possible that you and the Democratic Party are so out of touch that you really don&#8217;t know what the American people want? Isn&#8217;t it just possible that the reason the political climate is so &#8220;vitriolic&#8221; is because you genuinely upset that many people? I might add that those of you in the White House have been plenty &#8220;vitriolic&#8221; at times yourselves. Mr. Beck and Mr. Limbaugh are not out there beating people into submission or feeding them poison Kool-Aid. No one is forced to neither believe nor even listen to either one of them. People listen and believe because, as free thinking citizens, they want to listen. And if they keep listening, it&#8217;s probably because they agree. It is wrong to assume that the American people are not intelligent enough to come to these conclusions on their own without the help of Mr. Beck, Mr. Limbaugh and others like them. I believe that they do the American public a huge service. Those of you on the left, have nearly the entire mainstream media for an outlet. The likes of Mr. Beck, Mr. Limbaugh and others have finally given the Conservatives a voice. And it is speaking loud and clear. Maybe it&#8217;s time you listen!<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Happy Good Friday!  I would like to remind everyone that today is the day we remember that Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of mankind.  He didn&#8217;t just have his cable turned off or sacrifice his bowling night or eliminate his pizza night.  He suffered and died on the cross at the hands of a vicious mob, jeering and cheering.  &#8220;Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.&#8221;  He died so that we, mankind, could find salvation through Him and everlasting life.  Do any one of you out there love someone so much that you would suffer a horrific death just to ensure your loved one&#8217;s destiny?  Especially when that someone consists of the jeering, cheering mob watching your suffering?  And yet, after all he did for us, we continue to show disrespect.  We eliminate prayer in schools.  We won&#8217;t allow manger scenes on public property.  We take down the Ten Commandments in public buildings.  We won&#8217;t allow Creation to be taught in our schools.  What kind of thanks is that?  I would like to remind each and every one of you, to take a few minutes out of your busy day today, and thank God for Jesus Christ, for his sacrifice on the cross, and all he has done for you and mankind throughout the millenia.  I am.  It&#8217;s time we show some gratitude or risk losing His blessings.  God bless you.  -Randbo</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have come up with a few ideas for a new political party that would take us back to the roots of Conservatism.  Over the years the Republican Party has lost its roots as it has slowly drifted left in favor of &#8220;Progressivism&#8221;.  It might be interesting to note here that the Republican Party was founded here in Michigan.  Maybe its time we found a new one!  Your suggestions would be very welcome.</p>
<p>The &#8220;Born Again Conservative Movement&#8221;</p>

By Henry Gibson (!)&#8211;This is a joke for those of you who watched &#8220;Laugh In&#8221;.  OK, just forget it!</p>
<p>I.  Beliefs<br />
A party should have certain universal beliefs, a platform, of specific beliefs and goals that do not vary within the party.  There will always be individual differences between members on details or methods, but the overall goals and results should be consistent.  When people vote for a party candidate, they would like to know what the party in general stands for.  The only way a party can get much done is to get as many of its members voted into office as possible.  The voters need to know that no matter how many &#8220;Born Again Conservatives&#8221; they vote in, they&#8217;ll all be working for the same goals and hold the same beliefs.  Here are some examples:</p>
<p>1. Abortion is murder.  Life begins at conception.  Had God not wanted that life, conception would not have occurred.<br />
2. Partial Birth Abortion is aggravated murder (doctor performing the procedure should get life in prison or death penalty).<br />
3. Marriage is one man and one woman (by birth).<br />
4. Murder is illegal, so guns don&#8217;t have to be.  The Second Amendment stands.<br />
5. The Constitution is fine, leave it alone.  It is and shall remain the last word on everything.<br />
6. Actions such as those taken by Congress to pass the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962) are criminal and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  How about High Treason?<br />
7. Term limits for Congress.  (How about 6 months?)<br />
8. Illegal immigration must be stopped.  Illegal immigrants are not entitled to any American social benefits.  The word &#8220;illegal&#8221; here is the key.  An illegal immigrant implies a person who has entered or remains in the country without permission, and/or due process.  If we have to improve the system, so be it.  Amnesty is not the answer.<br />
9. Balanced budget amendment.  Perhaps with a popular vote referendum for any spending that will exceed the last year&#8217;s revenue (REGARDLESS OF PROJECTED REVENUES).<br />
10. Prayer in school is OK.  Voluntary prayer in school is OK.  If you don&#8217;t like our God, that&#8217;s fine you can sit there quietly or step out momentarily.  This type of decision should be made at the local level and not mandated in Washington.<br />
11. Christian displays (the Ten Commandments, manger scenes, etc.) are  allowed in/on government property.  Like it or not,  this country was founded on Christian principles.  We allow you to keep your heritage/religion when you come over here, so let us keep ours!  If you don&#8217;t like it, go back to where you came from!<br />
12. English is the National Language.  If you&#8217;re a legal immigrant, you should&#8217;ve  been required to take some basic English classes and it won&#8217;t be a problem.  If not and you speak some other kind of gibberish, tough shit!  I for one can&#8217;t stand those stupid little pictures all over everything.  Press anything you want, you&#8217;ll still get English!<br />
13. Elvis is dead.</p>
<p>This is just a small sample of some of today&#8217;s issues.</p>
<p>II.  Organization<br />
A party should be organized, so that it can speak with one voice.  A fragmented party with no clear leadership will result in chaos.  This could lead not only to the defeat of our own party&#8217;s candidate, but also an easier victory for the Democrats due to watering down the opposing vote pool.  The Tea Party is an example of this.  There are many groups nationwide claiming to affiliate themselves with the Tea Party.  But each group seems to be independent of the next.  There&#8217;s no way to know for sure if each of these groups hold the same belief structure across the board.  We can&#8217;t have 25 Tea Party candidates for President, so how do they plan on deciding on one Presidential candidate if there&#8217;s no central organization?</p>
<p>III.  Ethics<br />
Personal attacks should be restricted to the political aspects of the elected official, person(s) or organization(s) in question.  Attacks on his/her family and/or friends should be strictly prohibited, with the exception of simple reference to matters of public record readily available in the media.  Let the media do the work here, it&#8217;s the only way we&#8217;ll get &#8216;em on our side.  Mud slinging seldom accomplishes much and quite often ends up helping the intended victim more than helping the attacker.  Taking the high road here will show a higher level of morality.  It is people with a higher level of morality that we are lacking in office.<br />
VIOLENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!!!!!**  This is important. **  If we are to believe that the current administration is trying to prolong and/or expand its power, then it&#8217;s reasonable to assume that the government will use any excuse it can to declare Marshal Law.  Marshal Law suspends ALL rights, Constitutional or otherwise.  Marshal Law is usually declared when Civil Disobedience is deemed to be &#8220;out of control&#8221;.  Get the picture?  Attacking Police Officers is absolutely stupid and is an excellent example of Civil Disobedience.  When the government declares Marshal Law, local Law Enforcement Officers will be replaced by military personnel.  Military personnel cannot quit or change sides without the fear of being hunted down and prosecuted.  Police Officers have close ties to their local communities, and can quit the force and join their communities.  These Police Officers that some propose to attack might well end up by our sides.  Besides that, they might close the doughnut shop in Clare and then I would be pissed!  At this point the Law is on our side.  Let&#8217;s use our heads and make our move while the Law is still on our side.  I might add here that the Dean of The Russian Foreign Ministry&#8217;s academy for future diplomats, Igor Panarin, has already predicted that Marshal Law will be declared in the U.S. under this administration.  Who would know better how to take over a country?  Do I believe him?  Not necessarily, but like it or not these people are NOT stupid.  They spend their days analyzing reams and reams of data from multitudes of sources.  As a third party observer, the truth can be much more obvious than to those of us stuck in the middle of it.  If you toss a frog into boiling water, he&#8217;ll jump out.  But if you put a frog into cool water and bring it slowly to a boil, he will slowly boil to death.<br />
Civil War or Marshal Law is a horrific proposition.  Since the Military will be called in to crush the rebellion, guess who makes up the Military.  You got it!!!!  It&#8217;s our sons and daughters.  Imagine tossing a grenade into a foxhole, then finding your son&#8217;s body in it.  That&#8217;s right, sons against fathers and fathers against daughters.  This is not some nameless, faceless enemy.  Nor will Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid be in the foxholes.  It will be our loved ones.  The soldiers will have little or no choice in the side they are on.  Deserters will probably be shot on sight.  So what are they to do?  Let you kill them?  Let them kill you?  Who wins this kind of war?  We had one Civil War, and I&#8217;m not sure we ever really fully recovered from that one.  Let&#8217;s not do it again.  Remember &#8220;The Pen is mightier than the Sword&#8221;.  Let us do battle with our pens, lest we, our country and our way of life shall perish by the sword.</p>

I believe the Constitution of the United States of America took the largest, single most devastating blow in her history. No bomb, no terrorist attack, no military action could ever come close to weakening our &#8220;Constitution&#8221;. She stands tall and proud with the support of &#8220;We the People&#8221;. But, this was worse, much worse - a blow from within. The very people sworn to protect and honor Her have betrayed Her and the citizens who hired them. Even more ominous than the legislation itself was the way it was implemented - with near total disregard for the &#8220;will of the people&#8221;, underhanded, backroom and sweetheart deals, and manipulation of the law. At a time when our country is facing an economic crisis of unprecedented proportions, our elected officials cram down our throat a Bill that will quite possibly bankrupt our nation, not to mention countless individuals who are already struggling to survive. The people we elected and sent to Washington DC to represent &#8220;We the people&#8221;, have failed us and the Constitution. They have completely forgotten who sent them there and who they work for. It&#8217;s time that &#8220;We the people&#8221; remind them. November elections are coming. I believe it is time for each and every one of us to do our homework, find out who voted for this atrocity, recall and replace them. And this should only be the first wave. Let not our memory fade come 2012. We should not stop until we have purged DC of this virus that has been growing for so long. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">With the government stepping into the health care insurance business, the health care insurance business will step out of it leaving the government in complete control.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Companies now offering private health care insurance as a benefit to their employees, will drop it in favor of the cheaper government program.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>As with every social program ever started, the costs will spiral out of control rapidly.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>For every dollar spent on health care, only a small percentage of it will actually reach providers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Our health care system will now experience the overcharging, double billing and fraudulent claims that have run rampant in the Medicare and Medicaid system for years nearly unchecked.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Doctors, unable to make a reasonable return on their investment, will drop specialties, curb hours, avoid certain locations, or perhaps change careers entirely (possibly become a politician, there seems to be more money in it).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Innovations in medicines and procedures will slow and possibly disappear due to a lack of profit incentive.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Another extremely disturbing effect is the way they pushed this Bill through.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>If they can cram this down our throat, using extortion and bribery, what next?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>How much liberty are &#8220;We the People&#8221; going to give up before we stand up and say &#8220;That&#8217;s enough&#8221;.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Little by little we are being robbed of our freedoms.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>And it isn&#8217;t always the Democrats.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>I believe the people in Washington are so out of touch with reality that there&#8217;s no hope of bringing them back.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>We are letting them sell our souls to Satan while we turn our backs on God.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Remember this is &#8220;One Nation Under God&#8221;.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>God is why this nation is here and God is why this nation is great.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>If we continue to let our government sell our soul to Satan, God will show us the terror and true hardship that so many other nations already know.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Now tell me, is this the kind of &#8220;change&#8221; you voted for?</span></p>

As for the Toyota, we need to keep in mind the complexity of the average American automobile these days.  We, as a society, constantly demand more and more &#8220;green&#8221; and fuel efficient autos.  In addition, we constantly demand more and more &#8220;safety&#8221; devices, to make us ever less responsible for our poor driving skills.  Many of these devices, by necessity, have total control over such important things as accelerators and brakes. </p>

<p>These automobiles are machines.  They are not inherently evil.  They have no feelings or agendas.  They do what we tell them, to the best of their ability, without asking questions.  But when they fail (and all machines do eventually), the results can be catastrophic.  While we have the technology to design and build wonderful gadgets, it is nearly impossible to test them under every possible condition and/or every possible failure mode.<br />
I am not trying to justify Toyota for not acting on a long standing failure.  In fact, from the sounds of it, what they did MAY INDEED BE CRIMINAL.  But, for all you Toyota bashers, they are NO different from any American company.  &#8220;Maybe if we deny it long enough, it will all go away, be forgotten, and it won&#8217;t cost us any money.&#8221;  Regarding unwanted acceleration and/or accelerators sticking, I know both GM and Ford have had similar issues.<br />
I have never owned a foreign automobile.  I always preferred the domestic styling and larger vehicles.  But, every American vehicle I owned, had multiple design, and/or quality issues.  And it seemed, the same issues that showed up in one model year, would show up in subsequent years, sometimes many model years down the road.  At the same time, problems appearing in Japanese autos one model year, rarely showed up the following model year.  And almost never a second year.  That&#8217;s what&#8217;s so perplexing about Toyota&#8217;s current dilemma.<br />
Toyota  DOES  OWE  IT&#8217;S CUSTOMERS AN EXPLANATION AND AN EFFECTIVE SOLUTION.  But, it&#8217;s time to get your heads out of your ass, and realize that Toyota and/or  Japan  is not the enemy.  In fact, the reason the American automobile industry is failing, is the American auto industry,  the UAW  and, to a very large extent, the American consumer, who is unwilling to pay for the very standard of living they demand!</p>
